Did a night dive once off Cat Island through a swarm of sea wasps. It was like a 3D real life version of space invaders.

was wearing a skin & booties & a hood. I covered my mouth and chin with my hands and only got a mild sting on the back of my hands.

But a pair of German divers wearing bathing suits really got tagged. Ow!

    Dive skins are wonderful things.

Sea wasps (or box jellies, or Cubozooids) are probably the most intelligent of the Cnidarians. They have a nerve ring of 100s of packed neurites of at least 2 size classes. They have well-developed eyes, and can see fairly well. They show relatively complex behavior. They swim fast, maneuver around things, and avoid collectors & pilings.
